Sustainability Commitments

Sustainability Commitments by Anglers Diet International Flies, www.wholesaletroutflies.com

As for all people and business across the globe, Responsible and Sustainable Development is a very important topic and I, Wilson Apollo Were, make a commitment to embrace all practices which contribute to sustainable development for my company, for my Team of Fly-Tyers and my community, to ensure that we are in full compliance with all environmental, labor or local & international regulations that apply.

The Kenyan government does a fine job of disposing for all waste materials, including any dyes used in production of customer orders.

All applicable labor laws are applied as well. My Team of tyers are all adults, most of the team is married and have children, and they are paid fine wages on a weekly basis. Holiday bonuses are likewise paid to thank my tyers for their performance! In addition, the workspace is clean and large so that that each tyer has plenty space. In addition, thanks to my customer base, I have now for more than 2 years, a core team, that tells me that they are happy and thriving.

In addition to our compliance with local and international laws and regulations, I have made other commitments to Sustainable growth. • I am now joining the National Chapter of Trout Unlimited, TU!

This is the Trout Unlimited Mission Statement:  We believe in bringing all parties to the table to find proactive solutions that meet the challenges facing cold-water fisheries. We work to protect important habitat, reconnect degraded waterways and restore trout populations.  The best conservation work comes from true partnerships between landowners, agencies, non-profits, municipalities and other stakeholders. •

I am also joining Wild Trout Trust: https://www.wildtrout.org/ the U.K. Conservation organization

This is Wild Trout Trusts’ Mission Statement: We are a conservation charity that focuses on practical work to improve habitat for trout across the UK and Ireland. Although we are a small team, we have a big impact because we work in partnership with Rivers Trusts, Wildlife Trusts, local conservation volunteer groups, fishing clubs, landowners, Government Agencies and many more. Our role in these partnerships is to provide expert advice and practical project delivery as well as to inspire others and give them the advice and practical skills to improve and maintain their lake or river for the benefit of trout and all wildlife.

Lastly, we have donated Many flies, over 500 flies to Project Healing waters, dedicated to assisttng verterans to fly-fish.

In addition to these firm commitments, the Kenyan authorities, like other governments across the world, are making commitments to plant more trees. And since I ship internationally and contribute to Greenhouse Gas emissions, I have planted 125 sapling tress in December 2022 to compensate for this and it was a pleasure to make this commitment to a more sustainable world.  If you have any suggestions for me, to make further contributions to responsible management of resources, please let me know.
